Here at Farmer’s Garden, we have a lot to be patriotic about on July 4th. Vlasic was born and raised in the U.S. seventy years ago, when pickling pioneer Joseph Vlasic used fresh, locally grown cucumbers, herbs and spices to create unique pickle recipes that have been shared for generations. In the last seventy years, we’ve put down or roots and been honored to have a place on your family’s tables.
Today, we’re happy to be savoring that same simple concept with Farmer’s Garden pickles – freshly hand-packed in the great U.S. of A.
Here are our top five 4th of July recipes for you to savor with friends and family this Independence Day:
1. Dill Pickle Dip
July 4th always brings the heat. Thankfully, this Dill Pickle Dip by Southern Bite is a cool treat to enjoy while you’re firing up the grill. Garlic, cream cheese, diced Farmer’s Garden Kosher Dill halves and pickle juice combine for a versatile dip that’s great on chips, crackers and chopped up veggies, or as a burger topping.
2. Pickle Caprese Salad Kebabs
Heading to a Fourth of July potluck BBQ? Our Pickle Caprese Salad Kebabs are a festive appetizer to bring along and could not be easier to make. With fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and a little crunch with lettuce and Kosher Dill Spears, these skewers will not disappoint.
3. Hot Dog Relish
Every BBQ needs some good, old-fashioned hot dogs and every hot dog needs a delicious relish on top. In fact, every hot dog deserves fresh, homemade relish. Our Farm to Jar friend The Shopping Mama whipped up two hot dog relishes and we happen to love them both! Check out her Sweet and Spicy Relish using our Bread and Butter variety and jalapenos, and the Confetti Dill Pickle Relish with Dill Spears, mustard, red pepper and onion.
4. Zesty Salmon Burgers
Not crazy about beef or chicken, or just looking for something a little different? Try out the Zesty Salmon Burgers from A Family Feast – the mix of salmon, shrimp, bread crumbs and Farmer’s Garden dill pickles form a fresh and light burger paired with a cool and creamy dill spread. The dill spread has a hint of agave nectar to give it a sweet kick.
5. Caramelized Onion and Portobello Sliders
For the vegetarians in the group, you can’t go wrong with Caramelized Onion and Portobello Sliders, made by our friend Averie Cooks. Sweet Vidalia onions plus baby Portobello mushrooms and Bread and Butter pickles make a hearty, crunchy bite. But wait, it gets better. Combine two parts ketchup to one part mayo with a splash of Farmer’s Garden pickle juice and you’ll have the perfect fry sauce for dipping on the side.
